1. Who we are
VR Mentor ("we", "us", "our") operates vrmentor.com, a SaaS platform that provides real-time learner monitoring for VR training instructors. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2. Data we collect
Account data
When you sign up we collect your email address and, optionally, your name and organisation name.
Session and learner metrics
When a VR headset runs a session using the VR Mentor Unity SDK, it sends behavioural metrics to our servers. These metrics are derived signals (e.g. head movement variance, interaction counts) and do not include audio, video, biometric identifiers, or personally identifiable information about the learner unless your application explicitly includes it in a custom metric.
Learners are identified by a stable anonymous device ID generated on first launch and stored in the headset's local storage. This ID is not linked to any real-world identity unless your organisation maps it to one in your own systems.
Usage data
We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited for security and performance purposes.
Payment data
Payments are processed by Stripe. We store only a Stripe customer ID and subscription status — we never see or store your full card details.
3. How we use your data
- To provide and operate the VR Mentor service
- To display live and historical session metrics to authorised instructors
- To process subscription payments via Stripe
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
- To investigate abuse or security incidents
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
4. Data retention
Session metrics are retained according to your plan (30 days on Starter, 1 year on Pro, unlimited on Enterprise). Account data is retained until you delete your account. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.
5. Data sharing
We share data only with the following sub-processors:
- Supabase — database and authentication (EU/US data centres)
- Vercel — application hosting (US data centres)
- Stripe — payment processing
6. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@vrmentor.com.
7. Cookies
We use session cookies for authentication only. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email or via the dashboard for material changes.
